Marijuana Doctors

Marijuana Doctors

You wouldnt buy your sushi on the street, so why do you buy your weed there?

It seems that the rise of cannabis and its legalisation (at least for medical purposes) is having its mainstream acceptance - especially in the USA. But most TV broadcasters have been uncomfortable about running ads for marijuana related companies and businesses. Until now, that is.

On Monday, American TV broadcaster Comcast ran the first weed ad for a company called, a service that links medical marijuana patients with local doctors. The slightly hokey ad stars a persuasive sushi dealer, and plays on the idea that you wouldnt buy sushi off the street; so why would you buy your weed there?

Securing the airtime for our commercial on a major network was extremely difficult and at the same time, extremely satisfying, CEO Jason Draizin said in a statement. We recognize that the sale and use of marijuana is still considered very controversial and we are pleased that Comcast understands that there are legitimate businesses providing legitimate and legal services to people who have legitimate needs.

The ad ran in the state of New Jersey, where medical marijuana has been legal since 2010, airing on Fox, CNN, Discovery and ESPN, but has watershed restrictions and can only be shown on major networks between 10pm – 5am. Perfect for those late night couch surfers catching a blaze
