This is definitely one for the Only in America category: in this land of mass gun ownership, are we really shocked to see these young kids proudly holding their colourful Crickett rifles and heartbreakingly outlining the fears that have promoted it. Photographer An-Sofie Kesteleyn approached strangers at American gun ranges asked if she could photograph their children holding guns.
She told Wired about the experience: One of the only things I had going for me was that Im not some weird-looking guy. I really wanted to know what parents and kids thought about having the guns. I dont want to be like Im against guns or pro guns, but I do think giving a child a gun is sort of like giving your kids car keys.
Remember kids, killing is bad. Do drugs instead.
