There’s no denying this punk rock trio from Burleigh Heads are on the up and up. From Jaen Collective, these three loons consist of brothers Nick on guitar and Jamaal on bass and vocals, leaving good mate Alan on the drums. We recently caught up with the boys to get suited and booted in all things Afends and revel in some general Pvcker Up fvckery.
These three are nothing if not a prolific bunch, who dabble in debauchery in the best kind of way. Setting up in their studio warehouse, scattered with skateboards, Persian rugs and endless guitars we felt right at home. For us, it goes without question that music plays a huge role in our vision, our culture and is effectively the backbone of Afends and hanging out with these guys confirmed why that is. You can’t help but feel fvcking energised when you are surrounded by walls of spontaneous lyrics, doodles and people who truly don’t give a monkeys what others think. Their industrial warehouse with alternating checkerboard floors paired with our latest Hemp double denim, black Bones cord and Mulberry check: we let the organised chaos unfold. With our mate Parko behind the lens and the trio doubling up as filmmakers for their film production company Jaen Collective, we were able to get a snapshot of a day in the life these pvckers. With their music and style going hand in hand with our latest threads, it was a made match.
